Jose Calderon nearly walks into the wrong locker room.

Awww. You can't really blame Jose, he spent the last 8 and a half seasons as a Toronto Raptor, so it is only natural for him to walk right into the Raptors locker room. Don't know how his new Detroit Piston teammates will feel about all of this though, definitely not the greatest team bonding moment there.

A Video of Matt Bonner hitting trick shots all over the Spurs practice facility.

Matt Bonner is the best. He is one of those few NBA players that are real human beings and could easily be related to. I mean it is perfectly normal to love a good sandwich and new balance basketball shoes, even though they don't make them anymore. This video was done in part for the Canada Basketball 90th Anniversary and you might ask why Matt Bonner is part of this despite being born in the States. Well, when he came down to Toronto to play for the Raptors, besides becoming a fan favorite, he met some friends that eventually hooked him up with his now, wife. After obtaining Dual Citizenship (in both U.S. and Canada), Matt has often expressed his interest to betray his birth country to play for us (Canadians) because he loved this country and not totally because he will never make the U.S. squad. I am fine with that, the Canadian team needs all the help they can get, so why not add a 6 foot 10, three point shooter that led the NBA in three pointer percentage in the 2010-2011 season. It doesn't hurt that he can hit shots sitting down and off the walls.

Amir Johnson got away with a ridiculous Double Dribble.

From the National Post:
“You can’t teach that,” Johnson said after the game. “You can’t teach that at all. I think I sold it with my pump fake.”
This is incredible, but stranger things have happened in Toronto.

Amir Johnson shaved a Raptor Claw in to the back of his head.

Via: @IamAmirJohnson
Amir Johnson is certainly not the first one to shave his team's logo in to his head. While the Raptor Claw looks pretty good with the red, the actual original Raptor logo would have been even cooler. Matches your tattoos too. Other players have done this as well, none more famous for it than Metta World Peace, a psycho formerly known as Ron Artest.

He only needs a Chicago Bull and whatever the hell a Pacer is, to complete the collection of the teams he played for.

Tony Allen had a Grizzly done, but it looked more cute than intimidating. A grown man should not have glitter on the back of his head and especially not for Bear eyes.

Via: Curtis Givens
Fans are not to be outdone either, here is a picture of dudes with NBA dudes in their hair. The kid with the Matt Bonner even got suspended from school for it. His asshole of a Principal forced him to remove before he was allowed to attend school again.

The Round Up - December 16th, 2012.

Stats Rundown

Jose Calderon gets his second career triple double, 18 points, 10 rebounds and 14 assists in the victory over the Houston Rockets. The Raptors are on a 2 game winning streak after losing 6 games in a row. Watch out NBA world!

Boards: J.J. Hickson of the Portland Trail Blazers had 16 rebounds (8 Offensive) and 24 points (10 of 14 shooting) in a spectacular win over the New Orleans Hornets.

5x5: Nicholas Batum joins a short list of players that have accomplished a 5x5, a feat that requires at least 5 in each of the 5 "Good" statistics. His 11 points, 5 rebounds, 10 assists, 5 steals and 5 blocks makes him the 8th player since 86'-87' to ever do so.

Rookie Watch: In the first battle between the ROY candidates, Anthony Davis outperformed Damian Lillard with an efficient 15 points (5 of 10) and 5 rebounds off the bench. But it didn't matter because the Hornets lost and Damian who had 16 points (5 of 14), scored the game winning basket.

Time Machine User: Kobe Bryant became the 3rd player in NBA history to score at least 30 points in 5 straight games over the age of 34, with his 34 points (12 of 21), 4 rebounds and 6 assist performance that defeated the Philadelphia 76ers.

Athletic Reptiles: Again, Raptor shooting guards are drafted only based on dunking ability.

What Bust?: Kwame Brown lets the Los Angeles Lakers know what they have been missing.

A NBA Referee tried to block Kris Humphries's free throw attempt.

This is the funniest thing to ever happen in recent NBA memory. I didn't catch this game, so I am not sure why he did it, looked like a late Toronto substitution. Anyway, I hope this inspire a new way to call games, instead of using the whistle, referees should be allowed to get in the game, and force a stop. It won't be effective, but would be hilarious.

You can own the Vancouver Grizzlies Practice Court Floor for $13,000.

Craigslist
Anyone got $13,000 dollars lying around and want a historic piece of Canadian NBA history? Well, the Vancouver Grizzlies practice court is for sale on Craigslist. If you don't have the money to afford it, maybe you can ask for a early Christmas present, but that's unlikely to happen (I hate you, Mom.). Since the owner seems so willing to part with it, you could negotiate the price. The problem is even after you break him down, you still don't have enough money or the space to store it.

I might have possibly just described my situations or told you a complete lie. Either way, it sucks to see that the remnants of my hometown team, before I got the chance to watch a single game. At least Memphis doesn't suck.

The Man of the Lakers Bench, Robert Sacre is the Greatest Bench Performer Ever.

The guys at Believe the Hype, have just given what everybody wants for Christmas. The total compilation of Robert Sacre cheering for his team. Let me clear this up, the dancing mad man in the video is a Canadian back up center, and no, he is not a reflection of how people dance in Canada. We have way better moves than just furious karate chops, ever heard of the beaver?

The Round Up - November 25th, 2012.

Stats Rundown:

Jrue Holiday scored a new career high of 32 points, to go with his 13 assists in the victory over the Phoenix Suns. The last Sixer to ever put up those numbers were none other than Allen Iverson in 2006.

Honorable Mention: Tony Parker carved up the Toronto Raptor defense, scoring 32 points, grabbing 6 boards and handing out 5 assists in the double overtime victory over the Toronto Raptors.

Boards: Ed Davis of the Toronto Raptors came off the bench for 14 rebounds (8 Offenisve) and 15 points in only 22 minutes of play.

Dishin': Rajon Rondo tied John Stockton for the second longest double digit assist streak (37) in NBA history with his 16 assists tonight. He also had 15 points in the overtime win over the Orlando Magic.

Historic Block Party: Tim Duncan's rejection of 3 Toronto Raptors shots, gave him, his 2,500th block. The 9th most in NBA history.

Rookie Watch: The Lithuanian Raptor, Jonas Valanciunas showed no signs of fear against Tim Duncan, pouring in 22 points (9 of 13 shooting), 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 blocks in another tough loss.

Time Machine User: Tim Duncan is still alive and ballin', 26 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists, and 3 blocks against the Toronto Raptors.

Phoenix Captured: Luis Scola is a G. (Via: @MikePradaSBN)

Cool Fact Bro: In the win over the Portland Blazers, Deron Williams became the 11th player since 85'-86' to register 15 points, 12 assists and 4 blocks.

Old Man Bloopers: Paul Pierce is old, so his legs doesn't listen to him sometimes.

Manimalism: Kenneth Faried preys on your puny dunk attempts.

Highlight of the Night: Manu Ginobili is the coolest and is probably a lowest of keys street baller back in Argentina.

The Round Up - November 20th, 2012.

Stats Rundown:

Carmelo Anthony scored 29 points, grabbed 6 boards and dished out 4 dimes in 28 minutes for the New York Knicks and it was more than enough to beat the young New Orleans Hornets.

Board Monster: Dwight Howard swatted away 4 shots to go with his 23 points (8 of 11 shooting), 15 rebounds, and 3 assists in the win over the Brooklyn Nets.

Dishin': Jose Calderon and Jrue Holiday got doubles doubles against each other, getting 12 assists for their respective teams.

Thief: Gerald Wallace stole the ball away from the Lakers 5 times. This achievement made him the 4th Nets player since 86' to get 5 steals and 3 blocks in a game. Lame fact (Via: @Nets_PR)

Rookie Watch: Jonas Valaciunas is pretty good, 11 points, 11 rebounds and 3 blocks in 25 minutes for the Raptors.

Time Machine User: Which is from now on AKA Kobe Bryant watch. The Mamba finished with 25 points (8 of 15 shooting), 5 assists, and pairs of clutch free throws to seal the victory.

Defense: Andray Blatche is not very good at it, but he found a creative way to bother the shooter. (Via: @talkhoops)

An Actual Block Party: Dwight Howard sends the shot of the man he was suppose to play with into the first row and dances to celebrate.

Disrespect: Metta World Peace knocks down a three and rubs the head coach of the Brooklyn Nets, Avery Johnson's head on the way back to defense. If you did that to Chris Paul, MWP would have been left with two broken arms. (Via: @cjzero)

Skates: Deron Williams just toying with Darius Morris. (Via: @cjzero)

Unstoppable: Carmelo Anthony scored 19 points in the first quarter against the New Orleans Hornets. His teammates only combined for 10.

Fatty orders in threes: Raymond Felton scored 15 points, all of which were in form of threes. He went 5 of 6 from behind the arc.

Head Band: Jason Kidd head band watch is way more entertaining than Dwight Howard's.(Via:@jose3030)

FROLO: Still lookin' good. (Via: @Shirka17)

Highlight of the Night: Just Nick Young hitting a ridiculously difficult shot. We all know he would still take the exact same shot regardless of the shot clock situation. Not a bad day for the gunner, as he scored 32 points on the Toronto Raptors.

The Brooklyn Nets and Toronto Raptors Rookies got new embarrassing bags.

The displeasure of Tyshawn Taylor's face must have broken Deron William's heart. I mean he went out and spent his some his money from his hard earned five year, $100 million dollar contract. And he got nothing back in return, those rookies need to learn their place. May I suggest you fill his car up with popcorn too?

Look at the Raptors rookies, not only did they embrace the gifts, they seem to love them. The smile on their faces say it all, no matter how ill matched the stuffed toys are to their respective bags, with the exception of Diego and Dora (No, I did not have to google it, I know my Dora the explorer, don't ask why, just accept it), they are appreciative of their new accessories.

The Round Up - November 10th, 2012

Stats Rundown:

It was a weird night in the NBA, we got a few surprises. There is going to be a lot of Charlotte Bobcat mentions, this will forever be a Round Up to cherish for the rest of the 2012-2013 season. Kemba Walker did everything today, dropped 26 points, grabbed 6 rebounds, dished out 7 assists, and got 8 steals, pretty good for a guy that is just 6 foot.

Honorable Mention: Nicholas Batum was a mad man, scoring 33 points (11 of 18 shooting), grabbing 7 rebounds, handing out 4 assists, stealing 2 basketballs, blocking one shot and hit the game tying 3 pointer against the San Antonio Spurs. Too bad, the Spurs scored their free throws in the next possession and Batum missed a three pointer to win the game.

Board Monster: Kenneth "Manimal" Faried grabbed 17 rebounds, to go with his 18 points in the double overtime victory over the Golden State Warriors.

Thief: Kemba Walker snatched 8 basketballs from the Dallas Mavericks.

Butter Fingers: Jrue Holiday is going to be a regular high here, averaging a league high 5.7 Turnovers per game in this season, he coughed up another 7 today in the victory over the shorthanded Toronto Raptors.

Rookie Watch: Michael Kidd-Gilchrist finally posts up a big game, scoring 25 point (from 8 of 12 shooting), grabbing 12 rebounds and blocking 2 shots.

Time Machine User: Paul Pierce and his old man moves gets him another mention, finishing with 25 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 assists in the victory over the Milwaukee Bucks.

Free Basketball: Two games went to overtime today, the Charlotte Bobcats defeated the Dallas Mavericks 101 to 97 in OT. Denver and Golden State went into double overtime, the Nuggets came out on top, defeating the Warriors 107 to 101.

Passin' History: Rajon Rondo (10 assists) surpassed John Stockton for the 3rd longest double-digit assist streak, with his 30th straight tonight.

Game of Runs: Believe it or not, the Philadelphia 76ers outscored the Toronto Raptors 32 to 7 in the second quarter. Yea, 7 points in 12 whole minutes. They shot 2 for 20 from the field quarter.
Houston Rockets went on a 22 - 1 run in the second half against the Detroit Pistons, who still have yet to put up a W (0-7).

And 1 - Shoe: MKG went on a one man fast break against the Dallas Mavericks, got the basket and the foul, with only one shoe on.

Redemption: Remember that Andris Biedrins free throw attempt that missed so bad, it actually stopped 4 feet short of the rim? Well he actually hit both of his free throws today and the fans in Golden State are lovin' it. From that reaction you would have thought he hit the game winner, but the dude needs all the confidence he can get.

Highlight of the Night: Breaking News - Gerald Green can jump really really high.

The Round Up - November 6th, 2012

Stats Rundown:

Greg Monroe did everything in his power to help his team, the Detroit Pistons to take down the Denver Nuggets, in Mile High City. Unfortunately, his 27 points, 10 boards and 3 blocks didn't get his team the win.

Honorable Mention to Arron Affalo who dropped 28 points, dished out 5 assists and grabbed 5 rebounds.

Thief: Jose Calderon and Ty Lawson snatched 4 basketballs away.

Butter Fingers: Kevin Durant, Kevin Martin, Danilo Gallinari, and Brandon Knight lost the ball 4 times.

Rookie Watch: Jonas Valanciunas scored 18 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in the embarrassing loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Time Machine User: No one stepped into the Time Machine today, but I am very convinced that Andre Miller is the BEST alley-oop passer to have ever played the game.

In Regards to the U.S. 2012 Election:

CELEBRATION TIME: When asked about Obama's victory, Joakin Noah responds with PEW! PEW! PEW! PEW!

Highlight of the Night: Kevin Durant with a welcoming ceremony for Jonas Valanciunas.

The Feed: Toronto Raptors vs. Oklahoma City Thunder [11/06/12]

Recap:

The Oklahoma City Thunder electrocuted the Toronto Raptors repeatedly 108 to 88 in a offensive showcase at the Chesapeake Energy Arena. Kevin Durant and company came out red hot in the first quarter scoring 30 points at 61% from the field to Raptors's 17 at 37%. With every possession, the lead grew and Toronto was out of it by the first half.

The Raptors were never able to find an offensive rhythm and it definitely didn't help when Kyle Lowry left the game in the second quarter after twisting his ankle. Rookie Jonas Valaciunas led all Raptors with 18 points and 6 rebounds, getting a some help from Andrea Bargnani who added 16 points and another 6 boards. The Italian continues to struggle shooting the ball, as the main option on offense, he could never find the basket, hitting only 5 of his 14 shot attempts.

Russell Westbrook stormed the Raptors defense, scoring 19 points, while dishing out 8 assists. Kevin Durant chipped in 16 points, 6 rebounds and Serge Ibaka with his own 17 points from 8 of 9 shooting. Needless to say, Toronto never found a way to slow down their opponents.

Offensive End:

It wasn't as if the Raptors were defended exceptionally well, they just couldn't hit anything but iron. Andrea Bargnani had a fair share of wide open threes, which he never took advantage of. And without Kyle Lowry, not only were they missing their best current scorer, they lost the only person that could create offense out of nothing.

OKC got whatever they wanted against Toronto tonight, as usual Westbrook will use a high pick and roll to get free and likely take the first shot, if that doesn't happen, he had Ibaka (the Screen Setter) open from 15 feet out all game long. Kevin Durant will get most of his points via post up, or isolations. The two superstars will draw attention as soon as they touch the ball and they will find the open man if given the double team.

The Thunder will make you pay in transition, there is probably 0.01% chance, they will not score against a unsettled defense.

Defensive End:

Toronto still has not improved their transition defense, giving lay ups/dunks after layups/dunks on the break. In this game, Toronto had a tendency to over help on the ball handler (had two guys on OKC guards for no good reason), some players will follow as deep into the restricted area. This opened up a lot of space for the Thunder shooters, who had a blast, thanks to the terrible rotations.

I couldn't really tell if the Oklahoma City played really good defense, because like I mentioned earlier, Toronto couldn't even buy a basket. OKC does a good job packing the paint, preventing a lot of interior points. They only had a few noted mishaps, when Andrea is on the floor, Perkins and Ibaka will still stay near the paint just to help out on drives, too bad he didn't knock them down.

The Moments:

Some woman or girl screamed at a decibel high enough to almost crack the screen of my TV when Jose Calderon was shooting the penalty for Ibaka's defensive three seconds in the key. You know what they say, girlies love the Spanish.

If you don't live in Canada, you missed out on the Raptor's commentators making fat jokes about an obese fan, who was wearing suspenders over his half naked body. Canada is sometimes not so nice.

Rookie Watch:
Jonas Valanciunas was aggressive all night attacking Kendrick Perkins in the post. He finished with 18 points from 6 of 8 shooting and 6 rebounds.

Terrence Ross scored 10 points in the second half, which was basically garbage time.

Perry Jone III was scoreless in the 18 minutes he played.

Jeremy Lamb knocked a three down in 6 minutes.

Monday, November 5, 2012

The Round Up - November 4th, 2012

Stats Rundown:

Dwight Howard did a little bit of everything in his first victory in a Lakers uniform, finishing with 28 points, 7 rebounds and 3 blocks. Honorable mention to Kevin Martin who is not going to let the Beard out do him, scoring 28 points in the loss to the Hawks.

Board Monster: Nikola Vucevic used his magical touch to grab 13 rebounds in a surprise blow out of the Phoenix Suns. Who would have thought they would be on the other end and have a 2 game win streak.

Thief: Steve Blake who usually turns the ball over, got 5 steals today. So that's basically why the Lakers won today.

Butter Fingers: Kevin Durant was 2 assists shy of his first triple double, and was 4 turnovers away from a quadruple double. Jrue Holiday also lost the basketball 6 times today.

Rookie Watch:
Damian Lillard did not play today, therefore no one is deserving of this honor. (Alexey Shved got 8 points, and I know you don't care)

Time Machine User:
I guess Kobe Bryant didn't need his knee to be German treated, because he has been ballin'. In the first Lakers victory of the season, the Black Mamba scored 15 points, dished 8 dimes and grabbed 7 boards in the destruction of the poor Pistons.

Best Hair: Andrew Bynum showing us how to never change and be yourself, no matter how much money you get, you stick to your roots and remain HOBO (get it? I changed it from humble to hobo because he looks like one, haha I am sorry).
From @jemelehill:

Whoops: Dante Cunningham heel kicked J.J. Barea's forehead while going for a rebound. Tests confirmed he gave his own teammate a mild concussion. Two concussions in the last 4 days, when did I start watching football?

My Bad: Russell Westbrook saved the basketball from out of bounds under his own basket for a hustle play, too bad it didn't really work out because Al "weird ears" Horford caught it and dunked it. (Will update with video)

This must have been his reaction:

Who is this Melo person and why is he actually playing defense?

Highlight of the Night: Jeff Teague only knows one dunk and this time he did it properly.

The Feed: Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Toronto Raptors [11/04/12].

Recap:

The Toronto Raptors capture their first win of the season, ripping the Wolves up 105 to 86. This was not the most interesting game, with Kevin Love and Ricky Rubio out, the Raptors took advantage of the Wolves crippled offense.

The starting back court of Toronto was back in action, producing the same monstrous results.  DeMar DeRozan and Kyle Lowry dropped 22 points each, with Lowry passing out an additional 5 assists. The game remained close until third quarter where the Raps drowned Minnesota with a barrage of points in the blow out.

Andrei Kirilenko led all Wolves with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 3 blocks, Nikola Pekovic helped with 15 points. Minnesota stayed in the game early despite turning the ball over 16 times in the first half, contributing to 27 Raptor points, eventually  their carelessness came back to haunt them, giving up the rock a total 24 times tonight.

Offensive End:

The Raptors ran a lot of isolations, taking advantage of the mismatch and getting easy points. Ball movement was definitely not as good as it was in the Brooklyn game. The focal point of the Raptor's offense is still DeMar and Andrea, they like to get them going early. Besides Jose Calderon, the rest of the guys that ran a pick and roll usually used the screen to get an open shot or path to the basket.

Minnesota looks into the post early, using Pekovic's beast of a body to bully Jonas Valaciunas. If they don't look for the post up, they run a basic pick and roll with cutter coming across.

Defensive End:

Toronto needs to fix their transition defense. It has been the biggest concern over the last 3, they just can't seem to set themselves fast enough to neutralize the quick oncoming attack. Their rotations were decent tonight, but they didn't have a real challenge to defend against.

The Wolves' defense at the back court is especially weak, allowing an above average shooting guard (DeMar DeRozan) to do whatever he wanted on the floor is unacceptable. Their front court with Pekovic and Kirilenko did a great job against the Toronto big men.

The Moments:
  • Alexey Shved has the girliest hair in the NBA period, no discussion.
  • HOT CHEETOS AND TAKIS played at the Air Canada Center, and according to twitter, the Raptors Children dance team used it as part of their performance. Although this is greatest thing to ever happen, it is ironic to be played in Canada because unfortunately we don't carry those hand-dyeing snacks. It is fitting to be played against the Wolves, since the song was sang by kids in Minnesota.
  • Dante Cunningham heel kicked J.J. Barea in the forehead and gave his own teammate a concussion.
Rookie Watch:

Jonas Valaciunas always bring a lot of energy, he might not play well, but he will play hard. He got 4 point sand 4 rebounds at the end of the night.

Terrence Ross shows confidence, he has a lot of work to do on the defensive end and nee to bulk up to keep up with the rest of the NBA. He got in foul trouble early, 3 fouls in 5 minutes, and knocked down a jumper in the garbage time.

Alexey Shved played pretty well, he needs to do what I prescribed for Ross as well. He has a lot of potential, great court vision, dished 4 assists and scored 8 point in 22 minutes.

The Feed: Toronto Raptors vs. Brooklyn Nets [11/03/12].

 Recap:

The Brooklyn Nets defeated the Toronto Raptors 107 to 100 in their first regular season game in the brand new Barclays Center. The Raptors came out to a blazing hot start scoring 35 points in the first quarter at 62.5%. But the Nets manage to fight back into the game, scoring 33 points in the second quarter to take the lead at halftime, a lead that Toronto never managed to comeback from.

On a night, the supporting Raptors struggled, Kyle Lowry (28 points, 8 assists and 8 rebounds) and Demar DeRozan (25 points) put the team on their backs and carried 53% of the offense. The 8 turnovers in the second quarter killed Toronto and destroyed the beautiful ball movement they had in the first quarter.

Brooklyn outscored Raptors in paint 52 to 34, much thanks to Brook Lopez who led all Nets with 27 points, Deron William added 19 points and 9 assists. Raptor's early reliance on the jumper, which did hit early came back to haunt them and only resorted to attack the basket late in the game.

Offensive End:
The Raptors like to look for Andrea Bargnani and Demar Derozan early. Andrea usually set a a pick early and instead of rolling hard like the other big men on the Raps, he flares out for a jumper. Demar Derozan get freed by off ball screens (2 of them and allows him to get the ball at the other wing).

Kyle Lowry likes to push the ball off a missed shot, in this game, he took the first shot available. If the defense is set, he will run a pick and roll to attack the basket and will kick out to the open man if given the opportunity.

Jose Calderon is a lot different, he likes to slowly dissect the defense and often (basically all the time) use the pick and roll to create offense.

From what I can remember Brooklyn didn't have specific offensive tactic, the only thing was the deep baseline screen, used to free the player that will likely shoot the ball upon catching it. Otherwise, it is just Deron William's dribble penetration to create chaos within the defense. They did start sloppy early, especially Joe Johnson, who did struggle tonight shooting 5 for 13, with 14 points. He forced a lot of shots, but did not revert back to ISO-JOE, which is a good sign for the Nets.

Defensive End:

Toronto looked great in the 1st quarter, rotating in symphony, reading the offense well and timed the help perfectly, but it ended there. There was a period of good defense in the fourth quarter comeback, it was just too late.

As you would have predicted, the Net's defense was not great either. They do hedge the pick and roll surprsingly well, other than that, they need to work on their rotation, they were slow to recover and the Raptors bailed them out by taking jumpers. When Reggie Evans is on, the defense turns to another level, he really bothers the bigs.

The Moments:
  • Brook Lopez has a serious T-Shirt tan, distracted and bothered me the entire game.
  • The Betty White temporary tattoo promised, did not happen. Which makes Deron Williams the worst person ever.
  • Not once did Jay Z and Beyonce looked excited when the camera was on them. It is no Knicks vs. Net, but it was still a tight game.

Rookie Watch:

Jonas Valanciunas didn't get much action today, got in foul trouble early, finished with 2 points and 3 rebounds.

Kobe Bryant doesn't like losing to kids. Scarred DeMar MeRozan.

If you have watched any of  Kobe's youth basketball camps in the summer on youtube, you probably know that there was never a time the Mamba will let a little kid win. It gets even worst if you are older. If you are in your teens, not only will Kobe completely destroy your desire to continue to play basketball, he will trash talk and straight up embarrass you. For those who are still in disbelief of what you are reading, I have found evidence that the 5 time NBA champion do, do such things.

In a recent interview, DeMar DeRozan who grew up in LA, talked about the traumatic experience of playing Kobe at the tender age of 15.

From the National Post:
Was he trash talking a 15-year-old kid?
Was he? A little bit. Every time he got scored on, he really didn’t like that too much. It was cool, though.
Is it really cool DeMar? Then why do you have an average of 34% FG when you played against him in the last 2 seasons, when uou normally hit your shots in the mid 40's range. It's okay to confess, after all what else do bloggers like me have to do in the off season then investigate a story that is probably a fiction.

Man, I am gonna miss Kobe when he retires, we will never have another person who hates to lose with every single fiber of his living body.
