Tony Allen will play lock-down defense against your kids.

Banned from all Summer League games, the Tony Allen story. (Getty Images)
Tony Allen never stops playing defense. From The Oklahoman:
He was on the basketball court, so, naturally, Tony Allen couldn't help himself.
Lathered in sweat, the Memphis Grizzlies’ defensive savant was going hard, grit and grind as he calls it, blocking 10-year-olds and posting up 12-year-olds.
One kid, who dared attempt to cross up Allen at his own basketball camp — this the first ever in Stillwater — had his pocket picked in a drill, with a playful Allen trash-talking him immediately after the steal: “First-Team All-D, baby, First-Team All-D.”
“I’m actually catching my breath, because one of the kids was pretty good,” Allen admitted after a spirited 3-on-3 game. “Any time I get on the hardwood, I’m competing 110 percent. I even fouled a kid today. That was a little rough, but I got to win.”
Say what you will about Tony Allen, but I am on his side. Have you blocked a kid before? The thrill of crushing a child's soul, as you reach out and block his shot, while yelling "GET OUT OF MA HOUSE" at the top of your lungs, injecting fear deep into their veins, as you watch them hesitate to come near you. It's really the best feeling in the world. Against kids, I am the greatest basketball player ever and also the worst person ever. My 12 year old cousins will tell you that.

The Memphis Grizzlies misses seven consecutive layups in one possession.

Had the Grizzlies scored on one of their 7 attempts, they would have only finished with 3 points (including Jerryd Bayless's made free throw) in the last 4:44 of the second quarter. They shot 24 percent from the field in that quarter, and 26 percent for the half. Yea, it was bad.

Tony Allen gets jiggy in his Western Conference Finals photo shoot.

Between the hustle he brings to the court and his off court contributions to his local community (I still cannot forgive him for botching the lyrics of Montell Jordan's "This Is How We Do it."), it is really hard to not like Tony Allen.

Tony Allen accidentally threw his warm up shirt during Derek Fisher's three.

Tony Allen was just trying to be a gentleman by throwing the metaphorical towel (in this case, shirt) for the Thunder. It just happened to be during a Derek Fisher three that ended up costing Memphis 4 points (Derek's 3 + technical shot). Super weird call.

Tony Allen raps in preparation of the Grizzlies-Thunder game.

So you can remember lyrics to some random rap song, but not Montell Jordan's legendary "This Is How We Do It"? For shame, Tony Allen, I don't think we can ever be best friends, sorry dude. You blew it.

Tony Allen gets his layup stuck on the rim.

Tony Allen has always had trouble with finishing around the rim, but this is something else.

Even Ronny is mesmerized. Via: @cjzero
The funnier thing is that, after the jump ball, in which Memphis won, Tony had another opportunity to put the ball through the basket at point blank range and he missed it. That will cost you $3000 dollars, sir. (The Grizzlies has a system where each teammate will receive a $100 dollars for every missed layup by Mr. Allen. Since they have 15 players on the team, and he missed two of them in less than a minute, it adds up to be $3000 dollars. There goes Tony's allowance money, his kids will not be happy about this.

Tony Allen does Montell Jordan's "This Is How We Do It" in his karaoke charity event.

Considering that this song was the official anthem of the 90's, and one of the very few songs that I know the exact lyrics to, (excluding the extensive list of theme songs of popular tv shows), I am terribly disappointed in Tony Allen. He did pull off a great impression of that drunk uncle at your "insert holiday here* dinner party, if that was what he was going for. But butchering this song is still unforgivable, even if he was raising money to help juvenile offenders.

Update: He also did Michael Jackson's "Rock with U" and it was incomprehensible.

Random NBA .GIF of the Day: Tony Allen's turnover dance.

Via: @HPbasketball
Tony Allen is a defensive guy and loves it when his team makes the right defensive plays. But fans are not always aware of the little things, so of course, he has to add a little "umphh" after forcing a turnover on the Boston Celtics to get their attention. I think I have found what Tony can do after retirement. The emphasis he puts on that finger point, has given me enough reason to believe that he has a bright future as a traffic cop/ crossing guard. You know, the thing that Chris Tucker did in Rush Hour 3. I don't care what you think, that was a great movie.

Amir Johnson shaved a Raptor Claw in to the back of his head.

Amir Johnson is certainly not the first one to shave his team's logo in to his head. While the Raptor Claw looks pretty good with the red, the actual original Raptor logo would have been even cooler. Matches your tattoos too. Other players have done this as well, none more famous for it than Metta World Peace, a psycho formerly known as Ron Artest.

He only needs a Chicago Bull and whatever the hell a Pacer is, to complete the collection of the teams he played for.

Tony Allen had a Grizzly done, but it looked more cute than intimidating. A grown man should not have glitter on the back of his head and especially not for Bear eyes.

Fans are not to be outdone either, here is a picture of dudes with NBA dudes in their hair. The kid with the Matt Bonner even got suspended from school for it. His asshole of a Principal forced him to remove before he was allowed to attend school again.
