Random NBA trivia fact: Grant Hill and Jason Kidd were co-rookies of the year in 1995, the one of three times the honor has been shared in NBA History. The two other times were Dave Cowens and Geoff Petrie in 1971, and Elton Brand and Steve Francis in 2000.
Don't feel too bad, Dan Patrick, at least they both got their trophies.

The following is an excerpt of a post I recently wrote for the King James Gospel, if you would like to read the rest, please click the link below.
After 19 years in the NBA, Jason Kidd announced his retirement today. And it kind of sucks. While Kidd isn't one of my most favorite players, he was certainly one of the most exciting to watch during the early 2000's, and it sucks to watch one of the greatest point guards of basketball history, go out in his worst season ever, not to mention his scoring drought in his final 10 games, where he missed all of his 18 attempts (including a few brutal layup misses).
But let's not forget, before upsetting the Miami Heat in 2011 for his first and only championship, with the Dallas Mavericks, and playing his final season with the New York Knicks, Jason Kidd was a phenomenon, a new-age point guard, who had the court vision of no other, and of course, the ridiculous passing ability to... By the swing of Quentin Richardson's arm, I am assuming that Jason Kidd is safe. Via: SB Nation
Good thing this didn't develop into a full split, because that would not be pretty, and could possibly be the worst way to call it a career. Jason Kidd almost tore every single muscle fiber in his 8,000 year old body trying to help get a fallen Carmelo Anthony back up on his feet. Do your job, mop people. Geez.
Where were you, when Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan were shooting free throws in the gym? You had only one job to do and you bailed it to help out a friend, who I might add is on the other team, and is trying to beat the the team that is paying you for your services. Get your priorities straight, dude.
Jason Kidd has been in the NBA for 23 seasons, 19 years of singing Christmas Carols and is still camera shy. It was awkward just to watch. Blake Griffin and Chris Paul's take on jingle bells was cool, unlike James Harden ditching his team to sing one on his own. No one wants to play on Christmas, we all know David Stern is doing this do them because he is Mr.Scrooge and he overworks employees, while giving them huge sums of money. (Totally not because he is of Jewish Heritage and celebrates Hannukah)
For Fans, Christmas Basketball is the best.
This one doesn't go into my NBA Christmas Carol Power Rankings, only teams allowed.
After deciding the headband was not a good look to cover the stitches he received from Lance Stephenson on November 18th, he went with a band-aid instead. Unfortunately, Ty Lawson elbowed him in the head last night and forced the New York Knicks medical staff to take precautionary measures. Jason Kidd was advised to wear the NY Rangers helmet that are currently not of use during the NHL lockout that nobody cares about it, if he was to play in the game again.
Okay, I lied. But he did wear it during the entire half time warm ups and it was hilarious.
In the rainstorm brought on by the New York Knicks, only LeBron James stood tall. 31 points, 10 rebounds, 9 assists and 2 steals in the loss.
Honorable Mention: Raymond Felton put on his best Carmelo impression, 27 points (10 of 20 shooting, 6 of 10 from three), 4 rebounds, 7 assists and 2 steals in the blow out victory over the Miami Heat. This 20 point loss for Miami is the worst at home, since the Big 3 era.
Boards: Markieff Morris grabbed 17 rebounds (7 Offensive) to go with his 15 points, 3 assists and 2 blocks in the money-back guaranteed loss to the Dallas Mavericks. Not the greastest business idea. Watered Down: Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh combined to shoot 6 for 25 from the field to much of LeBron's delight. #STARER: Guessing she was not a fan of Wade's game tonight. (Via: @cjzero)
Tres: The New York Knicks shot 41% from the three point line today. Cashing in 18 of their 44 attempts, you may allow your jaw to drop on the floor in response to Miami's terrible defense. SHEEEDDD: He is on that Novakane. (Via: @cjzero)
Speeding: A good rule of thumb when playing basketball against LeBron James is you don't ever get near him if he is at top speed.
Air Combo: Double-Oops.
Butt Dudes: Right in between 4 cheeks. (Via: @cjzero)
Jokes: Byron Scott knows how to get out of an interview.
No, that's not Mike Brown, but hilariously fitting.
