The Round Up - February 14th, 2013.

Stats Rundown + Short Recap

Hoped you guys enjoyed your Valentine's day. If you missed the 2 games on last night, here is a short recap.

Emerging Rivalry: LeBron's record breaking 30 points on 60% shooting is finally over, but he still finished with a ridiculous 39 points on 14 of 24 shooting, 12 rebounds and 7 assists in the victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Heat opened this game up with a 15 point lead in the 1st quarter. Bosh added 20 points (10 of 14) and 12 rebounds. To the Thunder's dimay, Kevin Durant struggled early in the game, going without a field goal made in the entire 1st and half of the 2nd quarter. But he would make it up to his team by  going 8 of 10 in the 4th to score 22 of his total 40 points. Russell Westbrook chipped in 26 points (7 of 19), 5 rebounds and 10 assists. OKC was able to cut it close when Dwyane Wade fouled out of the game with less than 4 minutes to play. However, the late effort was not good enough to overcome the initial deficit.

Advanced Jump-shots: Bored of LeBron absolutely crushing your team inside? Well how about outside?

The New LA: The city is under new management. The woes of the Lakers continued on Thursday night in another loss in front of their home crowd. The Clippers ended this game in the first quarter, scoring 15 points in the first 5 minutes of the game, while holding their opponents to zip. The Lakers would not make a field goal until 6 minutes+ into the game. They had multiple opportunities to capture a lead to swing momentum to their side, but had no luck (or defense for that matter). Blake Griffin went off for 18 points in the first quarter, outscoring the entire Lakers team in the opening 12 minutes of the game by 1. The aerodynamic forward finished with 22 points (11 of 15) and 10 rebounds. Point Gawd, Chris Paul got 24 points (8 of 14) and 13 assists. Kobe did his best with 20 points on 7 of 13 shooting, 5 boards and 11 dimes, as his team gets dangerously close to missing the playoffs.
