The Round Up - January 15th, 2013.

These are the NBA 2013 All Star Jerseys and they actually look okay this time.

Stats Rundown

The Philadelphia 76ers might not be getting any wins, but Jrue "Spelled with a J" Holiday has been putting up All Star numbers all season. He had 29 points on 10 of 17 shooting (4 of 5 from three), 5 rebounds, 11 assists and 4 steals against the New Orleans Hornets. Up 20 points in the third quarter, the Hornets were caught off guard by a sudden attack by Nick Young. Swaggy P. dropped 14 points in 5 minutes to trim the lead to 11, which was the closest the Sixers would get to a victory. Ever since Eric Gordon returned to the starting line up, New Orleans have won 4 of their last 5 games.

Honorable Mention: To the likely 6th man of the year, Jamal Crawford, who went for 30 points (11 of 20), and 5 of 7 from the three to send the Houston Rockets into Dallas with a 4 game losing streak.

Boards: In his second game after coming back from a torn labrum (shoulder injury), Dwight Howard is starting to look a lot like his old self. He got 31 points on 14 of 18 shooting, 16 rebounds and 4 blocks in the win against the Milwaukee Bucks.

Sad Bucks: Poor John Henson had to resort to flopping to stop Dwight. Fines on a rookie salary is not pleasant.

Time Machine User: I guess it's true, the only reason the Lakers have been losing was because nobody including Mike D'Antoni told them that the season had started. It sure didn't affect Kobe's play though. The Black Mamba scored 31 points on 12 of 19 shooting, grabbed 2 boards and handed out 6 assists in the two game winning streak. This was Kobe's 22nd straight game with at least 20 points, he better not be doping.

Double Nuggets: Two of the Nuggets had a double double last night against the Portland Trail Blazers. Kenneth Faried had 21 points (9 of 12), 11 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. While Ty Lawson got himself 24 points (10 of 19), 3 rebounds and 12 assists, one of which included this big play in the overtime victory. This is the Blazers' first overtime loss of the season.

Toughness: Kyle Lowry had only 2 points before heading into halftime with a sprained ankle. Although he was not expected to return, he came back in the 4th quarter to score 19 points in an effort to get the win over the Brooklyn Nets. Unfortunately, it was not enough, Kyle would finish the game with 21 points on 5 of 7 shooting, knocking down 4 of 5 from downtown and dishing out 2 assists in 15 minutes of play.

Jet Pack: Just Blake Griffin dunking the basketball really far away from the hoop. Nothing special to see here.

Athletic Reptiles: Terrence Ross can still jump really high because that's how the Raptors draft shooting guards. I feel like we have been through this.

The James Harden Beard ain't nothing for Qunicy Acy to worry about.
